About Us:

The Sisters first came to live in Ballygriffin in 1984. They were warmly welcomed and supported by the people of Killavullen parish and in turn contributed in various ways to the life of the parish. Prayer groups, bible classes, school and adult retreats, and days of reflection were hosted and often led by the Sisters.
Nano Nagle Centre became in truth a Heritage Centre for the Presentation family world wide. Over the years, Sisters and Associates from every corner of the earth found a home in Ballygriffin, while the local people continued to venerate and draw inspiration from their own local ‘saint’.

New Directions 1996:
The Presentation Sisters' General Chapter (1996) invited the congregation to take up the care of the earth as a priority in their spirituality and ministries. In line with this it was decided to start an organic farm in Ballygriffin and to integrate the three areas of HERITAGE, SPIRITUALITY AND ECOLOGY at Nano Nagle Centre.
|
Today the Nano Nagle Centre focuses on 3 specific areas:
HERITAGE: with the main focus on Nano Nagle and the challenge her story poses for all who experience her spirit here at the place of her birth.
SPIRITUALITY: with a focus on wholeness and well-being of spirit, body and mind through prayer, reflection, meaningful rituals, sacred dance and retreats. The building of community is a key part of the ministry at the centre. Local and global links are fostered and nurtured through our involvement with our neighbours and brothers and sisters world-wide.
ECOLOGY: with a particular focus on our place as humans in the Universe and the community of all life. Care of the earth is actively promoted through environmental days for primary and secondary students and adult groups. In participating in these events in an experiential and hands-on way, people are challenged by the wonder of the universe with which we have been gifted and are brought to a new awareness of the responsibility we carry for its care and conservation.
